About Jared


Jared Sachs is a guitarist, composer, songwriter and music producer from Los Angeles, CA.

He has been teaching music since 2012 and strives to bring out the maximum potential in all of his students.

His journey started at 9 years old when his father handed him his first guitar. In 2014, Sachs transferred to the University of North Texas on a scholarship. There he honed his skills in the famous North Texas lab Bands, as well as in groups that performed around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In 2018, Sachs was awarded as a finalist in Lee Ritenour's Six String Theory Competition. He is known for his versatility as a sideman and session guitarist, and also performs and writes music of his own.

What can you teach me better on your instrument than any other teacher?

Improvisation, total fretboard fluency.

How did you learn to play your instrument?

Various teachers, playing with records, playing with other musicians.

What equipment do you play on today?

acoustic and electric guitar, electric bass, keyboard

Which personal trait helped you the most while practicing?

love and devotion to music.

What does your instrument have that others don't?

an Angled Stratocaster bridge pickup to mimic Jimi Hendrix's use of the upside down Strat

How do you handle children?

With care, encouragement, inspiration and positivity

What has been your greatest experience as a musician so far?

Rather than one single experience, being surrounded by, and being able to play with other fantastic musicians, and the experience of fully expressing myself through music

Which record would you take with you to the desert island?

A Beatles compilation, all things must pass, The Band (self title)
