About Owen K.

Owen is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, teacher, and producer based in Portland. He has been playing music since age six and teaching since 2017, working with students ages five to sixty-five across piano, guitar, bass, and ukulele. He believes everyone has a song inside them, and that music should be a tool for authentic expression and enjoyment. His lessons are highly personalized, adapting to each student’s goals, experience, and learning style. By maintaining clear communication and a positive environment, Owen helps students find the balance between challenge and progress—supporting steady growth without losing the joy of playing. Owen holds a degree in Film & Audio Production from Emerson College, where he composed for over a dozen student films. He has since worked on short films, TV pilots, ads, and an indie game, while also performing and collaborating with artists in Portland. He currently plays keyboard with Bodhi Mojo. Since 2020, Owen has been a featured artist and content creator for Casio Music Gear USA, producing video content and performing at events including the 2024 NAMM Show. He composes across classical, electronic, ambient, and experimental styles, and has released multiple albums and an EP. Owen brings both creative depth and real-world experience to his teaching, with a focus on helping students grow as expressive musicians.
