Book a teacher, join the lesson from your account, and send music from your computer when you need to.

Start with joining a lesson

Start here

Your lesson is on Craft Music. You book it, you join it from your account, and you come back to the same place for the next one.

Before you join

  • Use a computer for lessons where you will play from a music app. A phone is fine for a regular talking lesson.
  • Use headphones so the teacher’s sound does not bounce back into your microphone.
  • Sign in with the same email you used to book.

Find a teacher and book

  1. 1Open Get started and choose your instrument.
  2. 2Open a teacher profile and read how they teach.
  3. 3Pick an open time on their calendar and finish booking.
  4. 4Check the email on the account. That is where the lesson lives.

Join your lesson

The lesson link is inside your account. You do not need a separate invitation on the day.

  1. 1Sign in at craft-music.com.
  2. 2Open Lessons in the sidebar.
  3. 3When it is time, press Join lesson on that booking.
  4. 4Allow the camera and microphone if the browser asks.
  5. 5Check the camera, microphone, and speaker, then start the call.

Sign in with the email you used to book. That is the account that holds your lesson link.

If Join lesson is missing

You are probably in a different account than the one that booked. Sign out, sign in with the booking email, and open Lessons again. If it is still missing, email admin@craft-music.com.

Share system audio

This sends the music playing on your computer. It does not send your voice at the same time.

Share system audio is on the lesson bar. Press it to send the music. Press it again and the label changes to Use microphone, which brings your voice back.

Set the music app once

  • Use Chrome on a computer.
  • On a Mac, install LitLink and set the music app output to LitLink Audio Bridge.
  • On Windows, install VB-CABLE and set the music app output to CABLE Input.

Muse studio lessons

Muse is a studio lesson for when you need the music and your voice together. It connects Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools, FL Studio, and other music apps through the Muse desktop app. Your teacher hears the track while you keep talking. Admin has to turn Muse on for your account before that lesson appears.

  1. 1Email admin and ask for Muse. Nothing changes until admin turns it on.
  2. 2Download the Muse desktop app and sign in with the Muse account linked to Craft Music.
  3. 3On lesson day, open the booking and press Join lesson, the same as any other lesson.
  4. 4Choose Open in Muse app when you are sending audio from a music app. Join in browser is for listening and talking without the desktop app.

After you open Muse, sign in with the Muse account connected to Craft Music, then enter the lesson.

Notes between lessons

Open Lesson Hub in the sidebar, then the teacher. That page holds goals, practice notes, and assignments for that teacher.

Move or cancel a lesson

Open Lessons, then Reschedule on that lesson. If you tell your teacher at least 24 hours before the start, you can move it without an extra charge. Later changes may be limited.

A weekly time change is under Subscriptions. A single week is the Reschedule action on that lesson. For a billing question, email admin@craft-music.com.

Help

For a missing lesson link, a Muse request, or a billing question, email admin. To move a lesson, use the booking in your account.
