Teacher guide
How to navigate Craft Music, share lesson notes in Lesson Hub, withdraw earnings, run online lessons, and use Muse & Hi-Fi for production teaching.
Dashboard & navigation
Your home base. See earnings, upcoming lessons, recent activity, and profile completeness reminders.
- Sidebar: Dashboard, Manage profile, Weekly availability, In Person availability, Lessons, Reviews, Message, Payout, Settings, Teacher guide
- Complete profile nudges appear here until you set your price, availability, and gallery photos
- Notifications link directly to lessons, messages, profile changes, and payouts

Profile & availability
Your public profile is how students find and book you. Keep it current and approved.
- Manage profile — bio, intro video, pricing, teaching modes (online / in-person), instruments
- Profile edits may require admin approval before going live
- Weekly online availability — set recurring day/time slots students can book
- In Person availability — select metro + ZIP areas on the map for in-person requests
- First-time setup: /teacher/get-start walks you through onboarding and contract

Lessons & messaging
View upcoming and past lessons, join when it's time, and message students.
- Lessons page — Upcoming, Past, and Students (Lesson Hub) tabs
- Join opens ~10 minutes before start — click Join lesson on the card
- Message — chat with students through your Craft Music inbox (not personal email for booking)
- Reviews — public star ratings students leave after lessons (separate from Lesson Hub notes)

Lesson Hub — notes, feedback & practice
Per-student workspace for shared lesson notes, practice assignments, and private prep. Open Lessons → Students, then select a student.
- Overview — current focus (what practice should center on), next lesson, first-lesson intake answers, latest student update, and open assignments
- First lesson notes (intake) — students share goals, experience, and notes before their first lesson; you get a notification/email when they submit
- Shared updates — post feedback, encouragement, or focus notes both of you can see; students can send progress notes back the same way
- Private prep notes — teaching notes only you can see (never shown to the student)
- Assignments — create practice tasks with optional deadline and instructions; mark complete when done (moves to History)
- Resources — attach links or materials students need for practice
- Active Work — ongoing assignments, resources, and live shared updates
- History — archive of completed assignments and all notes (shared + your private prep), newest first
- Activity feed — live stream of shared updates, new assignments, completed work, and resources while you are on the page
- Students see the same Shared / Active / History content on their Lessons → Teachers hub; shared items can also email them

Payouts & withdrawing money
Connect Stripe, track earnings, and request payouts when your balance is ready.
- Go to Payout in the sidebar
- Connect with Stripe — complete identity verification and add your bank account
- Available balance shows what you can withdraw; minimum request is $10.00
- Click Request Payout when Stripe is connected and payouts are enabled
- Earning Source accordion shows pending earnings by lesson
- Withdrawal history — view past payouts and download CSV
Screenshot of the Payout page coming soon (requires a logged-in teacher account capture).
Online video lessons
Standard online lessons use Craft Music's built-in lesson room — not Zoom. Students join the same way from their dashboard.
- When it's time, go to Lessons and click Join lesson
- Pre-join screen — check camera, mic, and speaker before entering
- As the teacher, you join first; the student can enter once you're in the room
- Use wired headphones and a quiet space for the best experience
- In-call controls — camera, mic, chat, screen share, and settings
- For production audio (Muse or Hi-Fi), see the sections below

Connecting Muse to Craft Music
Before you can teach with Muse Sessions, your Muse account needs to be linked to Craft Music. Here is what that looks like the first time you connect.
- Admin enables “Studio lessons use Muse Sessions” on your profile — you get an email and an in-app notification with a secure Muse invite link
- Click the link (or the “Create or Sign into your Muse Account” button in the email) to open Muse
- New to Muse? You'll land on the Create account or Sign in screen — choose Create account
- Fill in your name, email, and password to create your Muse account — use the same email as your Craft Music account
- Already have a Muse account? Sign in instead, using the same email you use on Craft Music so the accounts match
- Muse then shows an Accept / Decline screen asking to link your Muse account to Craft Music — choose Accept to finish connecting
- Once connected, your Craft dashboard shows your Muse host username and studio lessons offer Join in browser or Open in Muse app
- Priority: after connecting, download and sign into the Muse desktop app — required for full DAW audio routing (Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools, FL Studio)
- Didn't get the invite, or the link expired? Contact support so admin can resend it

Muse Sessions (producers & studio)
If admin enables Muse on your profile, studio / production lessons use Muse Sessions for pro-quality DAW audio. Students still join from Craft Music (usually in the browser).
- Admin enables “Studio lessons use Muse Sessions” on your teacher profile
- When you join a Muse lesson, choose Join in browser or Open in Muse app
- Muse desktop app — full DAW routing for Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools, FL Studio, and more
- Browser join is also available if you do not need full desktop routing
- Students typically join in the browser and hear your session in high fidelity — no Muse install for most students
- Use wired headphones; stable internet is essential
- Built for production, mixing, beat making, and engineering lessons

Hi-Fi DAW sharing (standard lessons)
On standard online lessons (without Muse), share professional audio from your DAW inside the Craft Music lesson room — LitLink / VB-CABLE setup, talkback, and screen share.
- In the lesson room, open Share professional audio (Hi-Fi panel)
- Confirm headphones before Start sharing — speakers cause echo/feedback
- Mac: install LitLink (Craft Music–approved); Windows: install VB-CABLE — guided in the panel / pre-join wizard
- Route your DAW output to the loopback device, then select it and Start sharing
- Optionally include your microphone so students hear you talk over the track (mic send level)
- Share your DAW window via screen share while audio stays high quality
- Hold Space (talkback) to speak over the track when giving feedback
- Stop sharing restores your normal lesson microphone
