Tell your teacher and Craft Music as soon as possible. Changes made at least 24 hours in advance follow the regular rescheduling policy. A same-day cancellation is late unless you and the teacher agree on another arrangement and Craft Music is informed.

In-home: What counts as a late cancellation?

Accepted Answer

A change made with less than 24 hours’ notice—or a missed lesson without notice—is a late cancellation when no new time was agreed. The lesson is charged in full, and the teacher is paid in full. Exceptions are at Craft Music’s discretion, in coordination with the teacher.

In-home: Can we receive a makeup after a late cancellation?

A makeup is not guaranteed. Your teacher may offer another time at their discretion if their schedule permits.

In-home: Can we switch an in-home lesson to live online?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if both the family and teacher agree and the logistics work. Please inform Craft Music and update the lesson calendar.

In-home: What should we share about parking and access?

Accepted Answer

Send any parking restrictions, gate codes, buzzer instructions, building directions, or other important details before the lesson. Update your teacher if anything changes.

In-home: Do we need to put pets away?

Accepted Answer

Please secure pets if they may interrupt the lesson, interfere with the instrument, or make it difficult for the teacher to enter safely.

For students under 18, a responsible adult should be present or readily available during the lesson.

Accepted Answer

Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Portland. Enter your ZIP code and we’ll confirm coverage. Outside those areas, live online lessons are available anywhere.

In-home: Do we need our own instrument?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The teacher comes to you, so you learn and practice on your own instrument. Voice lessons don’t need one.

In-home: Are teachers background-checked?

Yes. Every teacher is background-checked, interviewed, and reference-checked before they visit a home.

In-home: Can more than one person learn in the same visit?

Yes. Siblings, parents, and children can learn together or one after another. Tell us about everyone when you request the visit.

In-home: Are the prices on a teacher profile the in-home rate?

No. Profile prices are for online lessons. We confirm the in-home rate and lesson length before the first lesson. There’s no payment to send a request.

Inside 12 hours, that occurrence can’t be moved from the student account. Message your teacher. Teachers can still move it. You can still change a standing weekly time; lessons already inside the window stay where they are.

Use headphones when the student will play, or when sharing music from the computer. Speakers are fine for a conversation lesson. Lessons start with noise cancellation on.

Sign in with the same email you used to book, then open Lessons. If it is still missing, email admin@craft-music.com.

Online: How do I play from a music app?

Accepted Answer

On a computer, in Chrome, press Share system audio. Your teacher hears the app and not your voice until you switch back to Use microphone. On a Mac, set the app output to LitLink. On Windows, set it to VB-CABLE.

Online: What is a Muse lesson?

Accepted Answer

Muse is for when the teacher needs to hear a music app and your voice at the same time. Email admin to turn it on, install the Muse desktop app, and choose Open in Muse app when you join.
