About Alex B.

I'm a pianist, composer, and producer with a foundation in classical, neoclassical, and ambient music, and dual degrees from USC's Thornton School of Music and Marshall School of Business. I teach classical piano, music theory, pop, jazz, and composition. Beyond teaching, I work as a music director for live shows, building Ableton and MainStage rigs for touring and pop artists, and perform regularly as a pianist at venues around LA, including as a longtime synagogue pianist. I've performed at festivals like Lollapalooza and South by Southwest, and at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Greek Theatre. I have also performed "Melodies of Auschwitz," an original four-hand piano composition, at the 70th anniversary commemoration of the camp's liberation in Krakow, Poland in front of 100 survivors in January 2015.

Probably the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. I also performed on the outdoor terrace of the Kennedy Center with 99 other pianists under the direction of Leonard Slatkin.
