Vladimir Horowitz was my pianistic hero as a child. Coldplay inspired me to cross my classical world with pop music. Radiohead has the discography I wish I had as an artist.

I can help students understand that music isn't notes on a page -- it's feeling and emotion.

Practicing 1.5-2 hours+ a day from age 9-18 and through conservatory in college. Also listening to music and getting inspired from all genres.

I play on my Yamaha U1 Upright Piano and my Arturia KeyLab 88.

My sensitivity and creativity allowed me to tap into pain and love, emotions I hadn't truly experienced a lot of as a child, to express musical concepts I'd learned even at an early age.

When I play, my instrument brims with character and patience. I use music to sing with my fingers because it taps into the essence of what makes us human.

My greatest experiences have been my performances abroad in Poland and Cambodia. There is something magical about performing for an audience with whom they don't speak the same verbal language but can understand music as the universal language.

With patience and playfulness — meeting kids where they are rather than pushing an adult pace. I use games and songs they love to build real technique underneath the fun, and celebrate small wins to keep motivation high. I stay flexible with pacing based on each child's attention span rather than forcing a rigid plan.

I enjoy teaching all ages, though I feel I excel at teaching students 9 years and up. My childhood teacher from age 9 to 18 always treated me like an adult, and I therefore lean in that direction as a teacher myself.

I've performed at Lollapalooza and SXSW, and at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Greek Theatre. I also composed Melodies of Auschwitz, a four-hand piano piece with Ambrose Soehn, which we performed at the 70th anniversary commemoration of the camp's liberation in Krakow, Poland, in front of 100 survivors. I also co-wrote and performed a piece for the opening ceremony of the 2020 Cambodia International Film Festival in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Alongside teaching, I work as a music director for live pop shows (building Ableton/MainStage rigs) and perform regularly as a pianist — including as a synagogue pianist. I also have an artist project for which I'm currently writing music at the crossroads of electronic, jazz, and classical music.

I'm most proud of my original compositions Melodies of Auschwitz as well as Garuda's Song, a three-movement piano suite written to the memory of the musicians lost during the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia. We performed this piece in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in 2019 with traditional instrumentalists and rock legends So Savoeun and Hong Samley to commemorate 40 years since the end of the genocide.

I love playing soccer, watching films (particularly art-house and international), meditating, traveling, and speaking foreign languages.
