About Ashley G.
I am an experienced musician and music educator with over 15 years of experience working with students of all ages and levels. I am passionate about one-on-one instruction, where I tailor learning to each student’s unique goals, interests, and learning style. In my private studio, I teach beginners building their first sounds, advancing students preparing for auditions, and adult learners rediscovering or beginning their musical journeys. I believe lessons should support each student’s goals and guide them toward a personal relationship with music and their instrument. Students are encouraged to explore their unique musical voices. Whether shaping a concerto movement or digging into a lively reel, I strive to create an environment that is supportive, joyful, and musically adventurous. My goal is not only to help students play well, but to help them become confident, expressive musicians who feel ownership of their art. My teaching blends solid technical foundations with creativity and stylistic exploration. I believe quality tone production and efficient technique are essential tools for musical freedom and fluent expression. As an active fiddler with a passion for Irish traditional music, I integrate fiddle styles, ear training, and musicianship skills alongside classical repertoire for interested students. I want students to feel equally comfortable reading music, learning by ear, and making their own musical choices.
