About Bruno E.

As a musician who has always navigated different genres and styles of music through the experience gained living in 4 different countries (Brazil, Israel, Spain, and the more recently the United States) throughout my personal career as a musician and as a student, I have gained lots of experience. Growing up in Brazil, where the richness and diversity of folk music is enormous, opened doors for me as an accompanying guitarist in popular rhythms such as samba, waltz, baião, frevo, bossa nova, toada, xote, côco and choro. The latter led me to the 7-string guitar, which I have played and taught since my adolescence, and which keeps me in contact with what is perhaps the most important matrix of Brazilian music. The time I spent in Barcelona opened doors for me to the richness of flamenco guitar and its unique sound. The last four years I've spent in New Orleans, LA, have opened doors for me to a very musical and diverse Latino community, full of accents and rhythms such as salsa, merengue, bachata, tango, mambo, Cuban son, cumbia, cha-cha-cha, among many others which have revitalized the already rhythmic and percussive style that characterizes Brazilian guitar playing, but with their own rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic peculiarities.

My specialties

Learn to improvise freely as a singer—just like an instrumentalist—making use of motifs, arpeggios, and scales, and imitating instruments and their respective timbres through the conscious use of syllables and their effects.
