About Daphne H.
Hello! My name is Daphne, and I am a pianist, musical director, and educator with an international background in classical performance. I currently work as a pianist and musical director with Norwegian Cruise Lines, collaborating with singers, musicians, and multidisciplinary artists in the fast-paced, ever-evolving entertainment industry. My teaching approach is shaped by "real-life” priorities of effectiveness, efficiency, and impact. My students can expect to develop their coordination, confidence, and musical comprehension in a supportive, focused environment that always encourages experimentation and personal reflection. I previously served on faculty at Idyllwild Arts Academy, where I taught private lessons, coached ensembles, accompanied recitals, and prepared students for conservatory and orchestral auditions. I have always looked forward to seeing my students and I believe every lesson or rehearsal should be dynamic, insightful, and thought provoking. I hold degrees in Piano Performance from Rice University and the University of Southern California, and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Voice Pedagogy with the University of Essex. Insights from this work inform my teaching, particularly in performance anxiety, coordination, and neuroplasticity.
