How did you learn to play your instrument?

I was classically trained privately starting at age 6, then self taught playing in blues and rock bands in nightclubs in NYC at age 16 before going to NYU to study Musical Theater & Music Theory.

How do you handle children?

I am very good and tuning in to how a child absorbs information so that I can shift my teaching style to accommodate their ability to learn. I do not believe in a cookie cutter approach to teaching.

I met, befriended and was mentored by my idol, Johnnie Johnson who was Chuck Berry's pianist for 30 years.
