About Jess K.
Jess (they/them) is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and musical artist. A consummate musician of over two decades, Jess obtained degrees in Studio/Jazz Guitar and Songwriting from USC’s Thornton School of Music. Today, they teach, record, and tour internationally, contributing guitar and bass to projects such as 'The Army, The Navy' (indie folk band), Alex Lahey, and pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo. With a heartfelt passion for education, Jess is devoted to nurturing lifelong music-makers. By collaborating closely with their private students, they tailor individualized curricula that upholds joyful self-expression. Inclusivity is central to their approach, and Jess employs culturally-responsive pedagogy that allows every kind of student to thrive by accessing the music that ignites their unique creativity. Whether the aim is to master a specific genre, refine your techniques, create original compositions, or simply learn the songs that move you, Jess is dedicated to providing the guidance to help you achieve your musical goals.
