About Lily B.

Lily Bogas is a Bay Area mezzo-soprano and vocal and piano instructor who teaches students of all ages and backgrounds. She believes music education should be tailored to each student, focusing on healthy technique, musical literacy, and expressive artistry. With extensive experience in opera, musical theater, jazz, R&B, folk, and pop, Lily brings a versatile approach to teaching and enjoys guiding students at every level, from first-time singers to advanced performers. Lily earned her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance at the Eastman School of Music under Robert Swensen, and is now pursuing her Master of Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Catherine Cook, where she has sung Dorothée in Massenet’s Cendrillon and Ruggiero in Handel’s Alcina. In 2025 she was a Studio Artist at the Aspen Music Festival, mentored by Renée Fleming and Patrick Summers. She is a Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artist with Central City Opera and a two-time recipient of the Schmidt Vocal Arts Alumni Grant. Her credits include Eastman Opera Theatre, West Edge Opera, Festival Opera, and the Miami Music Festival, and she has performed alongside artists such as Michael Feinstein, Darren Criss, Craig Terry, and Christine Goerke. She also served as Operations Assistant for the Merola Opera Program. Beyond opera, Lily is a songwriter and co-founder of the jazz-pop group Seldon, whose music has passed 100,000 streams on Spotify and who played San Francisco’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in 2026.
