About Michael V.
My journey as a musician began with classical trumpet training and jazz theory, which eventually led to a Bachelor of Music degree and a career as a professional media composer and producer. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of contributing music to massive studio projects, including franchises for Marvel and Amazon MGM Studios, as well as collaborating on a Grammy-nominated album. This blend of traditional acoustic performance and modern studio production shapes everything I do, both in the studio and in the classroom. I believe that a genuine willingness to learn and an inherent enjoyment of a subject completely supersede any level of "natural talent", especially when it comes to music. True musical growth doesn't come from rigid pressure; it comes from engagement. Because of this, my teaching style blends the core fundamentals of music theory, technical instrumental control, and real-world creative context underneath an overarching umbrella of genuine fun and curiosity. Lessons with me are designed to be an encouraging, creative space where student agency is prioritized. Whether a student is exploring a brass instrument (such as trumpet or trombone), diving into piano, or learning how music theory works, they can expect a highly customized approach tailored to their age, level, and interests. We will focus on building rock-solid musical foundations, but we do so through the lens of imagination and storytelling. For younger learners, this means turning abstract music notes into an interactive adventure. For intermediate and advanced students, it means pulling back the curtain on the industry, exploring composition, song structure, and production techniques used in actual film scores and modern records. Ultimately, my goal is to equip every student with the technical tools they need while fostering a lifelong love and confidence in finding their own unique musical voice.

While not a traditional concert stage, my ultimate milestone was recording at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. Stepping foot and working in a place where so many legends have recorded was a breathtaking experience!
