About Myra H.

Myra Hinrichs, violinist, recently finished her doctorate at the University of California, San Diego. Before that she lived and worked in Chicago after graduating from the Oberlin College and Conservatory and the Civic Orchestra training program. She has 18 years of teaching experience working with young and old violinists alike. She has completed up through Level 2 of Suzuki training, studying with Professor Vera McCoy-Sulentic. In performance, she is a member of Chartreuse, a string trio devoted to performing the music of living composers from around the world. Myra has appeared with many other ensembles including the Arkansas Symphony, dal niente, 3+1 Quartet, Mucca Pazza, mocrep, the Morton Feldman Chamber Players, the Madison Symphony, and a.pe.ri.od.ic. She hopes to share how profoundly music can connect us together with her students.

Q&A with Myra H.

Maybe stubbornness! I really wanted to get things right and I would keep trying until I did.
