About Vivian K.

Hi there! I’m Vivian, a piano teacher based in San Francisco. I’ve been playing piano since I was four years old, and music has been a huge part of my life ever since. I now perform professionally at special events such as weddings, banquets, galas, etc. throughout the Bay Area. Outside of music, I am an athlete, particularly in golf and dance. I love traveling and meeting new people while exploring different cultures. I really enjoy working with students of all ages and backgrounds, and helping them feel confident as they learn something new. One of my favorite things about teaching is seeing the moment when a student realizes, “Wait—I can actually play this!” I strive to make lessons a fun and positive part of each student’s day while helping them develop strong musicianship and a genuine love for music.

Have Professional studio setup : Yes
I teach using a professional, high-quality 88-key digital piano that provides a responsive and realistic playing experience for students. I also have access to a grand piano, allowing students the opportunity to experience and develop their playing on an acoustic instrument as well.

Q&A with Vivian K.

I enjoy helping students become well-rounded pianists—not only learning how to read notes, but also understanding harmony, playing by ear, improvising, arranging music, and developing their own musical personality. I want students to understand and enjoy music rather than simply memorize notes.
